So in Love!!

There are no words to describe how we felt when we found out we were having a baby girl! We are so excited and overwhelmed with such happiness! Besides finding out the sex today we also got to find out my placenta had moved 5 cm from my cervix giving me the clear to have a natural, vaginal birth! Such good news! We also learned that our baby girl is about 12 ounces and everything is developing just how it should be! She is so tiny and so precious! From the ultrasound pictures it looked like she had my nose, which Daddy was happy about =) So will she have brown hair like mommy or blond like daddy? Brown eyes or blue eyes? Both are so possible because they run strong in both of our families! Whatever she has, she is going to be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!

I do have one slight problem, well not really problem but rather a change of direction! All my decoration and purchases have been for a baby girl! Luckily my good friend Beth is having a baby boy this month so she will get all the baby boy clothes I have bought, but now on to decorating ideas and soooo many cute outfits to buy! Here are two I bought after the ultrasound! I just couldn't help myself ;)

On the sleeve of the outfit on the left, it says "Daddy's Little Girl"

Then here is a bedding set and decal style that I think I shall go with!

Auntie Lindsey said she would help me too make the balls to go over the crib! Loves!!!

Drum Roll Please......

ITS A GIRL!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Happy Birthday to the most amazing Daddy-to-be!!

Are We Going to See....

So excited for tomorrow!! Will we being seeing a Baby Owen Thomas tomorrow or a Baby Dakota Rae? Yep Daddy and Mommy officially decided on the name Dakota Rae McDonald last night! We found out my cousin's daughter's name was Madison so we didn't want to go with that anymore and all the others that I was throwing out there, such as Harper, David wasn't liking as much as Dakota! So Dakota Rae it is!!! The meaning of Dakota comes the Native American Indain orgin meaning "friend or ally." Fits perfect because Mommy is Sioux Indian! The name also means "forever smiling."

May go well...

Really loving the decal below and found this bedding set. May go well with it.

Lookies

Auntie Lindsey found this decal today and I love it!
May have to change my bedding thoughts!

20 weeks down, 20 more to go!!!

Can hardly believe that we are now 20 weeks and half way to having our baby in our arms!! The most exciting news of this week will be coming on Thursday when we find out the sex of Baby McDonald!! Can't wait! Luckily at work this week, we are super busy with our special so time should go by fast!

This week:

*Our baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He/she also is around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana.

*For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe, which I believe is how they will measure him/her on Thursday!!

*He/She is swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system.

*He/She is  also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (really excited to watch David change his first diaper!!!)

*If we are having a girl, her uterus is now fully formed and her ovaries are holding about seven million primitive eggs. If we are having a boy, his testicles have begun their descent from the abdomen to their ultimate destination — the scrotum.

You Know You're A Mama When

Thought this was cute so I thought I would share it with everyone!!! Found it on Adventures of the Stay at Home Mom!

You Know You're A Mama When...
1. You automatically ask your husband if his beer was nummy.
2. You are secretly relieved when someone else's baby is crying at a restaurant instead of your own.
3. Your idea of an excellent ab workout is an ongoing game of Pick-Up the Sippy Cup.
4. You find your child's trail of destruction around your home both cute and horrific.
5. Your idea of personal grooming has evolved from 3 hours in front of a mirror to 5 minutes of peace and quiet.
6. The concept of touching poop and vomit no longer makes you dry-heave into a bucket.
7. You sacrifice the remote control to your TV when the baby gets bored with his teething toys.
8. It's like winning the lottery when you eat lunch before 2pm.
9. Your diaper bag is by your side at all times, including that date with your husband where the baby is at home.
10. It makes you feel like the most important person in the world when you sit down on the floor and your baby crawls into your open arms.

Vaccinations!

The past couple of weeks have been doing A LOT of reading on vaccinations: the pros and cons, the schedule, the ingredients, the studies done on reactions and deaths, and the list goes on! Here is a great article that Dr. Ziegler gave me: Dispelling Vaccination Myths. My next thing to do on my vaccine checklist is to go through each vaccination and see what is in each one. I'm still having a really hard time imagining injecting my child with thimersol (mercury), aluminum phosphate, formaldehyde, and phenoxyethanol (antifreeze) so the researching continues!
