27 weeks

Third trimester hello to you next week!! Definitely starting to feel pregnant now! Nothing really to complain about but for sure feel a belly in front of me :) She is also constantly moving and kicking! I have noticed she also tends to get the hiccups if I eat anything spicy!

So at 27 weeks Baby Dakota:
  • Weighs almost 2 pounds, like a head of cauliflower, and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. Which is probably why I'm feeling more prego and feeling her kicks more!

  • She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers.
  • With more brain tissue developing, her brain is very active now which is why I need to double up on my fish oil and leafy greens!
  • While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now.
  • The tiny rhythmic movements I may be feeling are a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her just feel like mini kicks :)

Thanks Mamas!

Through out my pregnancy I have become quite a blogger! Not only on my own blog, but also going to other expecting mother's blogs! Thought I would share the ones that I go to daily so you all could enjoy their tips and ideas also!
  • That Mama Gretchen has been not only one of my favorite blogs to read through out my pregnancy but I have also got tons of great tips advice from her! To make it even better Gretchen and I use to work together at good ole' Cutter's Point! She recently just gave birth to a baby girl, Jemma! So cute and perfect in so many ways!
  • Expecting Chic has been a lot of fun to read because she is located in Seattle and we are due around the same time! Pretty much every day she post a new outfit that is fashionable yet affordable! Got to love that!
  • Jen Loves Kevin has also been a favorite because of all her cute maternity pictures and baby ideas! I recently mentioned her in a post about her birth story! If you haven't read it yet it's a tear jerker but an amazing story and sounds like perfect birth!
  • Josiah's Nest has a lot of good product reviews and give aways! Have never won anything but love trying :)
  • Spearmint Baby also has a lot of good product reviews and not just pertaining to kids and pregnancy!

3 Months Till Due Date!

Today marks our three month mark till Dakota's due date of January 18th! Now we aren't counting at all that she will be born on January 18th, but it's exciting how close we are to meeting our baby girl! Every day my belly is growing along with Dakota and it's amazing how pregnant I look now compared to just a month ago! As I approach my third trimester (some say it starts at 27 weeks and other say 28 weeks) there are a few things that are on my mind.
  • Interview Pediatricians. We have two clinics picked out, Healthy Future Pediatrics and South Sound Pediatric Associates. Now all I need to do is call to set up prenatal consultations!
  • Birth Plan. We have pretty much this all in our heads, we just need to put it on paper so everyone is clear on what we want and don't want.
  • Register for birthing classes.
  • Start Prenatal Yoga. Have been slacking on this due to our busy schedule but I really need to make time for it!
  • Wash Dakota's Clothes.
  • Maternity pictures possibly... David isn't to keen on these but I think a few would be good =)

Purchased this today on Etsy! It's a wall hanger to put all her clips on!

I is for INDECISIVE!!!

Tackled decorating Dakota's nursery again today and spent half the time trying to figure out where to put decals. In the end I decided not to use the Dakota banner decal I bought, but still using the two birdies that came with it. Every where on the wall it just didn't look right so off to the trash it went. On Friday I purchased a birdie/branch decal and figured out perfect places for them; however that included taking down the Owl canvas I had up and placing it somewhere new, which is now placed above her crib! I also put up the tissue pom poms that Amy and I made! They are really cute and placed in a corner of her nursery. Here are a couple pictures of my progress. The valance that I have up is what came with the bedding set, and I think I'm going to replace them with some light green ones. We will see though what my indecisive mind decides on though.

Sorry the pictures are so dark. They were taken with my phone =)
Very unnecessary but oh so cute!!

Amazing Birth Story

Here is a blog that I have been following since I found out I was pregnant, Jen Loves Kevin. She recently gave birth to a  beautiful baby girl, named Rowan! Here is her birth story! Pretty amazing and very inspiring for our big day coming in a short three months!
