Another week gone, and one step closer to meeting our baby girl! I have had a few friends give birth recently and they are making me sooo excited for our turn! I can't wait to meet her! 3 more weeks and we will be in our 3rd and final trimester!!!
At 25 weeks:
* Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga.
* She's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. :)
* Her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn.
* She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture!
* The structures of her spine are starting to form, including 33 vertebrae (rings of bone), 150 joints, and 1,000 ligaments. These structures will eventually support your baby's body weight.
* Dakota's capillaries are also forming this week. Capillaries are the tiny blood vessels that move blood from the heart to tissues in the body.
* So far in our pregnancy, Dakota's nostrils have been plugged up, but they are now beginning to open up.
* With the advances in technology, if she were to be born this week, she has up to an 82 percent chance of survival with aggressive ICU treatment. Amazing from 50% which was last week!
